Wakehurst FC (WFC) is thrilled by the continued growth of our female membership, with a record number of female teams in 2024! As we look ahead to another exciting year, we are pleased to announce the return of our dedicated Development Program for Junior Women’s football in 2025, under the NextGen Tigers offering.
Building on the success of last year’s programs, we are fortunate to continue our partnership with Elite Football (led by Ivan Jolic and his FFA Qualified team of coaches), who bring a wealth of technical expertise and coaching experience to our club.
Elite Football will focus on key areas that have already proven to enhance the game skills of our Junior Women while also fostering greater player engagement and enjoyment. The programs below are part of the NextGen Tigers initiative and available exclusively to our registered players for the 2025 season and will continue to elevate the development of our female footballers.
We can’t wait to see what our Junior Women will achieve in 2025!
1. Pre-Season Training Sessions (All Players)
Come along and get an early start before the winter season begins with our preseason training session with Ivan and his team. The focus will be on fitness techniques and age-specific core skills.
Details include the following:
2. NextGen Tigers Girls Development Program
The WFC NextGen Tigers Girls Development Program will be an in-house program, run with the assistance of Elite Football, that provides the opportunity for girls to train and play in a technical and focused environment.
Players who demonstrate an ability to play in the top team of each age group will be offered a place in the NextGen Tigers Girls Development Program. If spaces become available, positions will be offered to the next graded players.
This program will be run on Monday afternoons at Lionel Watts over the entire soccer season and will run in 5-week blocks. The program will include:
3. Team Training Insight Sessions (All Players)
This team session, delivered in partnership with Elite Football, is designed to enhance game skills and enjoyment for players across all divisions. At WFC, we are committed to ensuring that every player, regardless of their division, has the opportunity to develop their football skills.
The session will also offer valuable resources to coaches, helping them run effective training sessions and further enhance each player’s skill level. By focusing on both player and coach growth, we aim to foster an environment where all players can reach their full potential and enjoy the game to the fullest.
